And the Moral of the story is?????

A HOUND having started a Hare on the hillside pursued her for some distance, at one time biting her with his teeth as if he would take her life, and at another fawning upon her, as if in play with another dog. The Hare said to him, "I wish you would act sincerely by me, and show yourself in your true colors. If you are a friend, why do you bite me so hard? If an enemy, why do you fawn on me?'

No one can be a friend if you know not whether to trust or distrust him.

I promised someone that I'd blog about this "incident" that I've been going through at work... Funny though because I also have something else that I think would fit in perfectly. But lets start at the very beginning...

Can you imagine having to start a new job, and everyday come in to see this? Well not precisely, but this old lady ABSOLUTELY HATES ME! She's about 200 years old, she walks with a hunched over back, and wears the short pants, and too thick soles on the bottom of ONE shoe. She's the librarian in the job that I started not so long ago. I have NO idea why she hates me so much, but here are some examples of the random acts of hazing she puts me through.
  • My office is a little ways off from the printer. I was in a terrible rush one day to get some things out, so I was printing alot of stuff all at once. Being that I'm relatively new, I still find myself making mistakes, so I do things a little slower. Well I was printing some stuff from my office. I went out to grab it off of the printer, just to find that it wasn't there. Hmmm... maybe I was doing something wrong. So I try again. Go back to grab it. Nothing. OK, one more time. This time I run straight out to it. Only to find the Lil old lady grabbing my stuff. Me: Are you taking my print jobs? Her: Oh, these are yours? Me: YES! It's got my name on the cover sheet! Why are you taking them?? Her: Oh, I didn't know you needed it. I thought it was all stuff that needs to be shredded.   Me= -_-
  • She comes in at about 10-11am. As she walks past every ones office, a small smile and pleasant Good morning. Her: Good morning Boss Lady Boss Lady: Good Morning Lil old lady (Obviously I'm making the names up to protect my job). Her: Good Morning Boss B. Boss B: Good Morning Lil Old Lady. Me: Good Morning Lil old lady. Her: *silence* Good Morning Assistant C Assistant C: Good Morning Lil old lady   Me= -_-
  • So, Lil old lady likes to bake. She brought in some baked object and I had no idea how to even pronounce it. Again, as I always do, I greeted her when she came in, and she ignored me and greeted everyone else. She goes to every ones office one by one and offers them some of her baked goods. (hehehe I know I could say that another way, but that just made me giggle, so it stays) She of course doesn't come within 10 feet of mine. But I don't care... I figure I wouldn't like it anyway. Then Boss Lady says "Lil old lady, did you share with EVERYONE?" She gets an attitude, throws open my door and slams this odd smelling piece of dirt cake on my desk. Me: Thanks Lil old lady! *tosses it in the garbage* Now the next day, she walks in with her bagel. Walks straight into my office and says "Would you like this bagel? I bought it, but I don't think I'll eat it." Me: No thanks Lil old lady, but thank you for asking. How are you today? She doesn't respond. Walks away, and throws the bagel out. Doesn't offer it to anyone else. Just throws it out. I'm sure she contaminated it and was trying to take me out!   Me= -_-
The list goes on and on. This lady hates me. She has tried closing doors in my face, hiding my files, locking me out of the library, and not allowing me to use her 3 hole puncher (she'll literally carry it around with her, so I cant use it). The sad part is, she's so sweet to everyone else.

The latest incident involved her talking about me loudly (she'd partly deaf in one ear) to my assistant. I was so heated, I yell out "I can hear everything you're saying Lil old lady!" Embarrassed, she goes to tell on me. That I'm not doing things right, and I "just don't get it". My boss must have been paying close attention to things lately, and let her know that she doesn't like the way Lil old lady has been treating me. So, oddly enough she's been going out of her way to speak to me... Hmmmm....

Lets jump to part two.

There was this situation where this chick I know was dating my husbands best friend for a few years. Naturally, she and I are cool as we're sort of forced to be around one another. She's not too bad though, so I never minded. Well, she and the guy broke up. Well they always break up. And every time they break up, I find that I'm her shoulder to cry on. Then she gets very attached to me. She comes by alot. And wants to hand out alot. Once they get back together, she disappears. Unavailable, and doesn't wanna come around as much... so you can get where this is going.

Any who, after this latest breakup, she decides that it's "for real this time". She also develops an interest in a mutual friend of her ex and my husbands. This was destined to not turn out right. She was coming at him pretty strong, however he wouldn't budge. "Man law says I cant talk to you..." he'd tell her over and over again. Out of frustration, she contacts her ex and tells him all about her communication with the friend which in turn, draws my husband into the fiasco, as he's the one who is now being questioned about how much knowledge he had of it all. I approach her with it. "Why would you even do that? What was your purpose?" Her response "*shrug* I don't know. Curious I suppose. Just wanted to see what he'd say"

The selfishness of that comment threw me for such a loop. I went off. Told her it was stupid, served no purpose, and that now she's caused drama with my husband as well. Her shallow responses told me quite about her. (However, some would say I already knew...) Even still, it shed light on how she viewed friendship, marriage, respect, and down right common sense. She didn't view it. She enjoys the drama, and would love nothing more than to be casted on one of those low budget reality shows on Oxygen. Ugh. Not even worthy of VH1.

Now you may think "What the hell does that have to do with you? Everything. When someone is able to step outside of their skin. And their personality changes from what you THOUGHT was true. There's something to them. They need serious therapy.

PHEW! So, that's my day in a nut shell... Between Lil old lady and the flaky ex girlfriend... I just don't know what I'm getting at here... but I know for a fact, I want anything to do with either of them broads!
